Tennis training is more than just technique
When people think of a tennis ball machine like FastTrackTennis, the focus is usually on improving technique and precision. And yes – that’s exactly what it was made for. In recent blog posts, we have talked in detail about how you can specifically work on your basic strokes and your hitting technique.
But one key element often goes unnoticed – and it can decide a match:
👉 Tennis-specific endurance.
The overlooked problem: fatigue causes errors
Every tennis player knows this: after a few long rallies, your legs burn, your focus fades – and suddenly, the ball hits the net or flies out.
🎯 The truth: It’s not the technique that fails, it’s the fatigue.
That’s why training under pressure is so important – and that’s where FastTrackTennis helps you.
How to train endurance with FastTrackTennis
The FastTrackTennis machine is more than accurate – it’s relentlessly consistent. It never takes a break. And that makes it perfect for your endurance training.
🔁 Drill 1: Lateral Cone Challenge
Place two cones about 2 meters to each side of the machine.
After each shot, run to one cone and back.
Repeat for 3–5 minutes.
👉 Your legs will burn – it’s cardio and footwork in one.
🔺 Drill 2: The Crossfire Square
Set up four cones in a square 1–2 meters in front of the machine.
After each shot, run a set pattern: right – front – left – back.
Do this for 60–90 seconds.
📈 You’ll train speed, coordination, and stamina under pressure – just like in real matches.
Bonus: Precision under pressure
The best part: even as your heart rate rises, you’ll still need to hit precisely.
This builds mental focus and accuracy when tired – a true match-winning skill.
