FastTrackTennis Setup Guide: Space, Surfaces, and Portability

How Much Space Do You Really Need for Your FastTrackTennis System?

If you're planning to set up your FastTrackTennis system indoors, the minimum space you'll need is a ceiling height of 2.13 meters (7 feet) and a room width of 2.13 meters. However, I strongly recommend adding at least 50 cm (20 inches) of clearance on both the left and right sides. This gives you enough room to swing freely without risking damage to your walls.

What about distance from the net?
Ideally, you'll want 5 to 6 meters (16 to 20 feet) of space between you and the net. Of course, more distance is always better to give you more flexibility, but it still works well with less space—especially if you're focusing on volleys or hitting the ball straight out of the air.

Setting up outdoors? No problem.
Whether it's in your backyard, driveway, or any open outdoor space, you can place the system wherever works best for you. Once you're familiar with the setup, it only takes about 5 minutes to get everything ready.

You can also remove just the machine and leave the net assembled. This way, the net requires minimal space and can simply be stored against a wall when not in use.

What’s the ideal surface?
The FastTrackTennis system works on all hard surfaces, and even short grass allows the ball to bounce well. If you're looking for a more consistent bounce, simply place a small wooden board in front of the machine where the ball lands—and the bounce will be perfect.
Want to challenging conditions? Try placing a board with an uneven surface to create unpredictable bounces, just like you’d experience on a clay court sometimes. This is a great way to practice your reaction time and improve control under less-than-ideal conditions.

Can I transport the system when disassembled?
Absolutely. Every system comes with two included bags: one for the frame and net, and another for the machine. This makes it super easy to take your system with you—whether you're heading out on vacation, to a tournament, or just moving it from place to place—without worrying about losing or forgetting anything.
